Passionné par le piano depuis son plus jeune âge, il débute par le classique avant de découvrir le jazz dans les années 80 sous la guidance de Francis Dubosc, pianiste et professeur de jazz à Paris.
De 1973 à 1978, il évolue au sein du Trio Cytise, un groupe pop aux compositions originales, explorant l’orgue, le synthétiseur, le piano Fender et les percussions. Il fonde ensuite, de 1979 à 1981, Fumée Noire au Vatican, un groupe de jazz fusion dédié à ses propres compositions, se produisant régulièrement en région parisienne.
En 1982 et 1983, il rejoint Solfrito Latin Jazz, un quartet de jazz latin aux côtés du saxophoniste italo-américain Pipo Lionni, participant notamment au premier festival de jazz de La Courneuve.
Depuis 1995, il est pianiste et compositeur du quartet montpelliérain Ubiq ( Jean François Angles, saxophones, Sam Hussong, contrebasse, et Bernard Rességuier, batterie ), poursuivant son exploration musicale au sein de formations innovantes. En 2024, il co-fonde OZ Quartet avec Éric Berquet (contrebasse), Jean-Marie Frédéric (guitares) et Daniel Solia (batterie), proposant un répertoire largement composé de ses créations.
En 2009, sa participation à l’Expérience Mordicus, collectif d’improvisation, marque sa rencontre avec Bruno Roudil. De cette complicité artistique naît quelques années plus tard le groupe Cher Martin, fruit d’un travail d’écriture, de composition et d’arrangement au service des textes de Bruno.
Fascinated by the piano from an early age, he began with classical music before discovering jazz in the 1980s under the guidance of Francis Dubosc, a pianist and jazz teacher in Paris.
From 1973 to 1978, he was a member of Trio Cytise, a pop group with original compositions exploring the organ, synthesiser, Fender piano and percussion. From 1979 to 1981, he founded Fumée Noire au Vatican, a jazz fusion group dedicated to his own compositions, performing regularly in the Paris region.
In 1982 and 1983, he joined Solfrito Latin Jazz, a Latin jazz quartet alongside Italian-American saxophonist Pipo Lionni, taking part in the first La Courneuve jazz festival.
Since 1995, he has been pianist and composer with the Montpellier quartet Ubiq ( Jean François Angles, saxophones, Sam Hussong, contrebasse, et Bernard Rességuier, batterie ) , continuing his musical exploration with innovative groups. In 2024, he co-founded OZ Quartet with Éric Berquet (double bass), Jean-Marie Frédéric (guitars) and Daniel Solia (drums), offering a repertoire largely made up of his own creations.
In 2009, his participation in the Expérience Mordicus improvisation collective marked his meeting with Bruno Roudil. A few years later, this artistic partnership gave birth to the group Cher Martin, the fruit of a process of writing, composing and arranging for Bruno's lyrics.

Bruno Roudil est un auteur-compositeur et batteur-chanteur autodidacte, avec plus de 20 ans d’expérience. Son parcours artistique ne se limite pas à la musique—il est également un artiste peintre et sculpteur reconnu, que ce soit à travers le son ou les arts plastiques Bruno apporte une vision créative multidimensionnelle à chacune de ses œuvres.
Son cheminement musical est marqué par la composition, l’exploration vocale et l’improvisation. Pendant 10 ans, en atelier avec Carla Diratz, repoussant les limites de l’expression vocale spontanée, stage de "circle song" animé par David Eskenazi, et les sept dernières années il a perfectionné sa technique vocale avec Myrhiel Grosbard/Salim.
En 2002, Bruno a fondé ADEDRIM, un groupe de chansons françaises pop-rock dédié à la composition, où il a commencé à forger son identité musicale et lyrique. Sa passion pour l’improvisation l’a conduit à créer L’Expérience Mordicus en 2009, un collectif d’improvisation organisée réunissant des musiciens désireux d’explorer des paysages sonores spontanés et structurés.
Un tournant important s’est produit en 2017, lorsqu’il a cofondé Cher Martin avec François Jannin. Ce projet reflète une vision commune de compositions soignées, de textes poétiques et engagés, et d’un univers musical mêlant jazz, pop-rock, musiques du monde, pulsions électro et slam.
Tout au long de sa carrière, Bruno a participé à de nombreux projets musicaux et expériences collectives, recherchant sans cesse de nouvelles façons de créer du lien à travers le son et de bousculer les conventions artistiques—que ce soit sur scène ou à travers ses œuvres visuelles.

Bruno Roudil is a self-taught songwriter, drummer, and singer with over 20 years of experience. His artistic journey extends beyond music—he is also an acclaimed painter and sculptor. Whether through sound or visual arts, Bruno brings a multidimensional creative vision to each of his works.
His musical path is marked by composition, vocal exploration, and improvisation. For 10 years, he worked with Carla Diratz in vocal workshops, pushing the boundaries of spontaneous vocal expression. He also participated in a "circle song" workshop led by David Eskenazi, and over the past seven years, he has refined his vocal technique under the guidance of Myrhiel Grosbard/Salim.
In 2002, Bruno founded ADEDRIM, a French pop-rock band dedicated to original compositions, where he began shaping his musical and lyrical identity. His passion for improvisation led him to create L'Expérience Mordicus in 2009, a collective of organized improvisation that brings together musicians eager to explore spontaneous yet structured soundscapes.
A major turning point came in 2017 when he co-founded Cher Martin with François Jannin. This project reflects their shared vision of refined compositions, poetic and thought-provoking lyrics, and a musical universe blending jazz, pop-rock, world music, electronic pulses, and slam.
Throughout his career, Bruno has taken part in numerous musical projects and collective experiences, constantly seeking new ways to foster connection through sound and challenge artistic conventions—whether on stage or through his visual works.
